Next Conversation: June 10th

Why did we create this space?

We want to provide a courageous space for change agents to process the events that have occurred in the United States recently, including shootings in Uvalde TX, Laguna CA, and Buffalo NY. May 25th was also the 2nd Anniversary of George Floyd's murder.

We know many organizations do not provide a space or forum for those who want to share, grieve, process, listen, share, learn, or all of the above because they are unsure how to manage that type of space and ensure it is psychologically safe and welcoming. We are a consulting firm with diversity, equity, inclusion practitioners, and leaders who have courageous conversations weekly, so feel comfortable monitoring this forum and want to open up that community space for those that need it. We have seen the inclusive power of allowing people to share what is on their minds and hearts vs. going back to business as usual after tragedies impact them.

This conversation hosted by I Follow the Leader will be facilitated by our CEO, Antoinetta Mosley.

Message from CEO, Antoinetta Mosley

Join me this Friday to process, grieve, share, stay silent, listen, learn - whatever you need at this moment. Cameras on or cameras off, whatever feels right.

We want to provide a courageous space for change agents to process the events that have occurred in the United States recently, including shootings in Uvalde TX, Laguna Woods CA, and Buffalo NY. Today, May 25th is also the 2nd Anniversary of George Floyd's murder.

As a DEI practitioner and courage curator, this is the best way I know how to be solution-oriented about the events of the last two weeks - I am opening up a space for a community conversation for change agents. I offered my team the opportunity after the incidents in Buffalo, NY, and this time I feel called to expand that circle to anyone and everyone who would like to be in an inclusive space of belonging and healing. I don't know if a communal space exists to verbally discuss the tragedies that impact us directly after they occur, so why not create one?

I know that many organizations do not provide a space or forum for those who want to share, grieve, process, listen, share, learn, or all of the above after traumatic events because they are unsure how to manage that type of space and ensure it is psychologically safe and welcoming.

I will be facilitating the conversation, which only means I will share the ground rules and ensure the space stays centered on inclusion. We want the space to be a psychologically safe space for all those attending.  I Follow the Leader has had thousands of courageous conversations via our engagements with clients, at events, and our podcast. This is our first time opening up the conversation in this way. It's critical, courageous, and my heart says it's time. I hope to see you there.

Whether there are 2 of us on the call or 200, it will be a space where we are unapologetically authentic and don't pretend the last two weeks have been business as usual.  In times like these, we need community, and I believe that community, just like courage, can be cultivated.

Warm regards,

Antoinetta
